Our office located in Lincoln, RI is seeking an Actuarial Analyst to join the team!
Job Overview:
As part of our team, you’ll analyze state rate levels and rating structures and make recommendations based on the analysis. State case load will include monitoring rate levels of smaller states with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities:
- With minimal supervision, prepare basic data reports to develop clear and comprehensive written proposal for revisions in assigned states that accomplish short and long term growth and profitability goals.
- Monitor marketplace and legislative issues in assigned states and, with minimal guidance, assess impact of new regulations that affect the business.
- With minimal supervision, respond clearly and thoroughly to inquiries from members of other departments.
- With minimal supervision, provide guidance and statistical support to Regulatory Filing section on Insurance Department rate filings.
- With minimal supervision, coordinate and implement short term to medium term projects related to rates, rating structure, and internal actuarial processes.
- With minimal supervision, assign and provide adequate instruction to other members of the actuarial/pricing unit, and be responsible for completion of any miscellaneous assigned projects.
The 37.5-hour work week is scheduled from Monday through Friday, between the core hours of 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM
A hybrid schedule will be available once trained to work independently, with three days reporting to our Lincoln, RI office and two days working from home. We welcome individuals with higher levels of experience and education. Compensation will be thoughtfully evaluated to reflect your valuable expertise.
This role does not currently offer employment visa sponsorship or relocation assistance.

Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in mathematics or related field.
- Completion of at least one actuarial examination with the commitment to attain Associateship designation in the Casualty Actuarial Society.
- Basic knowledge of ratemaking principles, including underlying theory.
- Basic knowledge of data sources, data retrieval processes, spreadsheet construction, database construction, and other relevant personal computer applications.
- Basic knowledge of company specific rate review processes and rating calculations for all lines of business.
- Basic knowledge of company underwriting, accounting, data processing, and claims systems.
