The individual selected will handle inspections and appraisals of vehicles damaged to varying degrees and will negotiate with repair facilities as to the scope of damage and repair costs. Responsibilities:
- Establish fair and reasonable automobile repair costs by preparing accurate appraisals in a timely manner through the use of computerized appraisal systems, application of sound repair practices, application of betterment, the separation of non- related damage and the taking of clear photos of all damage, related or not
- Establish actual cash value in total loss situations and determines accurate salvage potential
- Conduct re-inspections and prepare supplemental appraisals as needed
- Keep abreast of motor vehicle design changes and repair solutions in an ongoing attempt to acquire a high level of awareness as to technological advancements
- Maintain strong open lines of communication with APD Technical and APD Operational Management as to industry trends and changes
- Secures and maintains licenses in designated states and completes continuing education as needed for compliance.
- May be called upon to handle other duties as required.
Qualifications:
- 1-2 years of industry experience
- Basic working knowledge of automobile body and mechanical repair practices, techniques, and associated costs
- Solid familiarity with company standards and APD Best Practices
- Competent use of automobile estimating manuals, computerized appraisal systems used by Amica, valuation guides, pricing structures and discounts associated with the repair of motor vehicles
- Complete familiarity with State Appraisal Licensing Laws
- Maintains various designations and certifications in the appraisal field
- Proficiency in the use of CCC, Mitchell, Audatex, and CCC ONE methodology
- Good analytical, communication and negotiation skills
- Complete required I-CAR Training
- Where applicable, obtain and maintain state required licensing. This may include Appraiser and/or Adjuster Licensing.
- Physical ability to bend, lift and climb
- Functional knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of products
Amica conducts background checks which includes a review of criminal, educational, employment and social media histories, and if the role involves use of a company vehicle, a motor vehicle or driving history report. The background check will not be initiated until after a conditional offer of employment is made and the candidate accepts the offer.
