Senior Life Underwriting Ops Analyst

Our office in Lincoln, RI is seeking a Senior Life Underwriting Ops Analyst who will work closely with underwriting management to evaluate and integrate technology solutions that enhance efficiency and accuracy of both underwriting and new business processing.  The individual in this role will help identify opportunities, assess options, identify integrations points, develop and modify workflows, and assist with project management and cost-benefit analyses.  The position will routinely interact with key internal stakeholders.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Support the Life Underwriting Operations Manager with the implementation of technology and process improvement initiatives
• Monitor production issues to identify and prioritize fixes and enhancements
• Create detailed business analyses for opportunities and solutions
• Model, develop and document business processes
• Define business requirements
• Assist in the evaluation of vendor solutions
• Develop and support the execution of project plans
• Report on status and variance of project health and key department metrics
• May be called to handle other duties as required

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 5 years of related experience preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job
• Knowledge of Agile/SCRUM and other project management tools and techniques
• Analytical self-starter
• Excellent facilitation and communication skills
• Track record of successful change management
• Ability to develop and deliver cost-benefit analyses

Preferred experience and qualifications:

• Experience and understanding of life insurance, life underwriting or life insurance operations
• Professional certification such as Certified Business Analyst Professional or Project Management Professional, CLU/AALU/FLMI
• Understanding of networks, databases and SAAS solutions
