Our office located in Lincoln, RI, is seeking an intern for our Digital Solutions and Innovation Department. This is a paid internship and the working hours are 37.5 hours per week during the summer.

Job Functions and Responsibilities

As an Innovation Intern at Amica Mutual Insurance Company, you will manage rapidly changing tasks on a daily basis, such as assisting with research projects – quantitative and qualitative in nature; supporting proofs of concept and pilots, industry scanning for product and marketplace trends, and supporting a culture of innovation. The Innovation Team will rely on you to create, execute and analyze feedback, surveys, and missions to ensure participant satisfaction. You will also establish and build effective working relationships across several teams in our department for a variety of insurance related telematics and smart home devices, platforms and data providers. This will likely involve you providing updates and recommendations to the Innovation team. In addition to being involved with various projects, you may also assist with arranging product demonstrations, compiling reports, documentation and presentations for senior leadership.

Job Requirements:

Assist Core and/or Adjacent Innovation teams by working closely with manager, business designer, strategic designer, innovation analyst, and researcher. You’ll be asked to get involved on day one with key strategic initiatives that roll up to our corporate strategy. You’re quantitative and qualitative skills will be leveraged to support analysis that will be used to help the team make key strategic decisions. You’ll participate in design thinking workshops, support enterprise idea challenges, and help researches craft surveys for our Amica Idea Community.


• Creative self-starter who is comfortable with both taking initiative and working in collaboration.
• Undergraduate student currently enrolled in an accredited college/university with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
• Possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Coordinate and balance workload across multiple projects, based on an understanding of overall priorities.
• Strong attention to detail, self-motivated and able to handle a variety of tasks independently.
• Effectively maintain working relationships with colleagues, vendors and key stakeholders.
• Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Prezi and Outlook is preferred.
