Location: Lincoln, RI

Our office in Lincoln, RI is seeking an Investment Analyst to conduct analyses for Amica’s pension portfolios, and assess risk in Amica’s general portfolios, duties include:

  • Run, analyze, and report daily risk and performance of Amica general portfolios via Bloomberg PORT, FactSet MAC Risk system, and internal processes;
  • Forecast portfolios’ risk over short and medium term via ad-hoc extreme event testing;
  • Design and develop Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) programs to automate internal processes – daily performance and risk tracking/ analyzing, daily security pricing, Bloomberg data importing/ exporting, etc.;
  • Implement the Liability Driven Investment (LDI) strategy in Amica’s pension funds to immunize these portfolios;
  • Generate liability projections/ estimations under different assumption schemes via the PFaroe Alpha engine;
  • Monitor and evaluate hedging ratios, key attributions (key rate duration, spread duration, yield, etc.) of Amica’s pension funds via the PFaroe and BondEdge system;
  • Conduct detailed analyses of interest rate and spread impacts on Amica’s pension portfolios under the LDI strategy;
  • Develop, maintain, and improve Amica’s bond optimization process using FrontLine’s solver engine;
  • Recommend and execute trades to re-align key characteristics of the pension portfolios;
  • Conduct research and forecast of macro-economic factors - inflation (PCE/CPI), unemployment rate, etc. - using Bloomberg and R programming.

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Quantitative Economics, Econometrics or related field, plus 1 year of experience in quantitative research/analysis and modeling. Experience, which may be gained concurrently, must include:

  • 1 year in risk modeling utilizing factor model, Monte Carlos simulation, and historical simulation methods;
  • 1 year building economic forecast models for macro-factors (inflation, unemployment, etc.);
  • 1 year of experience with VBA; R or Python (Pandas + StatsModels), and in using Excel Pivot table and Frontline Solver for financial analysis;
  • 1 year of experience with Bloomberg PORT, FactSet MAC, and BondEdge modeling tools;
  • 6 months in pension modeling (liability projection, etc.) and liability driven investment strategy for portfolio immunization;
  • 6 months of experience evaluating daily performance, risk, and hedging ratios of pension plans.
