Our Lincoln, Rhode Island, office is seeking a Scrum Master to be a servant leader and coach for Agile delivery teams. This person will help educate the teams in Lean-Agile, Scrum and Kanban, ensuring that the agreed Lean-Agile process is being followed and aligns with Scrum standards established by Amica. Those performing this role help remove impediments, and foster an environment for high-performing team dynamics, continuous flow, and relentless improvement.

The 37.5-hour/week work schedule will be Monday through Friday between the core hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., with the potential to work holidays and a few Saturdays per year.

Job Functions and Responsibilities:
• Lead multiple scrum teams in moderate to high complexity work streams. Oversee scrum process and coaches the teams on the use of scrum and Agile practices and methodology
• Facilitate transparency, inspection, and adoption of Scrum
• Organize and facilitate ceremonies, identify improvement opportunities to optimize velocity and quality while mitigating risk. Track and communicate the overall team progress providing visibility to stakeholders. (Retrospectives, Sprint Planning, etc)
• Serve as a filter to remove impediments to progress as identified by the team. Protect the team from outside influences to ensure the team remains focused on Scrum Team priorities
• Partner with the Product Owner to ensure the backlog items are prioritized based on business value and ready for the team
• Arrange and facilitate daily stand-up meetings, demo and decision-making processes in order to ensure quick inspection and proper use of adaptation process
• Ensure team adherence to agile principles. Provide coaching to the Scrum Teams on how to execute the Scrum framework. Teach team servant leadership
• Provide project status updates, and other appropriate communication throughout the project lifecycle to all stakeholders. Generate project/portfolio metrics, validate service level compliance and develops actionable recommendations
• Attend training and/or industry seminars as appropriate, to stay abreast of current technologies, trends and directions
• Pursue professional designations, such as Certified Scrum Master and FLMI if not previously accredited

Job Requirements:
• Typically requires Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 7 years’ experience, including project management, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Previous experience as a Scrum Master or project manager, preferred
• Professional designations – PMI-ACP or CSM designation preferred, FLMI (LOMA) designations a plus
• Working knowledge of Agile frameworks like Scrum, Kanban, XP, etc.
• Working knowledge of Agile techniques: User Stories, Continuous Integration, Test-driven Development, Continuous Testing, Pairing, Automated Testing, Burn-down Metrics, Velocity etc.
• Domain knowledge and/or experience in the insurance industry preferred
• Experience with agile toolsets such as Jira and Confluence a plus, but not required
• Able to make decisions and solve problems in a fast paced, high expectation environment
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, able to communicate with all levels of management and company personnel
• Able to work independently, show judgement and initiative in order to accomplish job duties
• Proficient in use of MS Project, Word, Outlook, and Powerpoint
