Our Lincoln, RI office is seeking a Senior Agile Coach to coach the enterprise through scaled agile principles, practices and actual changes in day-to-day behavior to create a healthy culture of responsiveness, empowerment, lean thinking, innovation and continuous value delivery. Provide thought leadership to increase agile maturity, and display a strong passion and pragmatism to promote scaled agile methods, mindsets and continuous improvement.

Job Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Train and coach the enterprise on agile behaviors, practices and ceremonies utilizing both scrum and Kanban. Build upon current agile successes within CIS, while promoting improvement in the ongoing adoption, and sustainment of those practices.
  • Coach and mentor roles critical to the success of scaled agile adoption and sustainment.
  • Develop and implement continuous improvement actions to increase organizational agile maturity, as measured through an established and quantified Agile Maturity Model.
  • Mentor the enterprise on scaled agile practices that promote innovation, rapid delivery, methodology sustainment, and pragmatism.
  • Develop and deliver training curriculums focused on general agile awareness, agile roles and responsibilities, agile ceremonies, Lean processes, various scaled agile methodologies and continuous improvement.
  • Further develop and standardize agile metrics to optimize value delivery and promote lean thinking and continuous improvement.
  • Be a trusted advisor and consultant with Management staff on continued scaled agile deployment and organizational changes facilitating that deployment.
  • Align the organization’s technical, product, and overall business strategies to scaled agile methodologies for work intake, prioritization and value delivery metrics to enable strategic objectives across the enterprise.
  • Assist in resolving organizational impediments that prevent agile teams from completing commitments.


Position Requirements:

  • 4-year degree, 9+ years of Agile experience
  • Mastery of Agile methodologies and practices as demonstrated by any of the following:
    • 5+ years of experience as a Scrum Master or Agile Program Manager
    • 5+ years of Agile coaching experience with teams that are new to Agile processes
    • Agile certification in any form of the following: Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), Certified Scrum Professional (CSP), Certified SAFe Agilest
  • Scaled Agile certification, in one or more methodologies, as well as 5+ years of experience with implementing Scaled Agile within an organization
  • Agile curriculum development, training material preparation, and delivery
  • Superb written and verbal communications skills, to include delivery before varied organizational entities including executive levels
  • Self-aware, confident yet humble team player who embodies the concept of servant- leadership
  • Exhibited passion for the benefits of Agile methodologies, and organizational change
  • Experience in the utilization of JIRA for Agile planning and task execution


Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

  • Lean or Six Sigma certifications
  • 10+ years of experience in project delivery roles (Agile and “Waterfall” methods)
  • Master’s Degree (MBA or technical degree)
  • Professional experience within an Information Technology organization (developer, tester, systems analyst, management role)
  • Publication of original content related to Agile practices and methodology (professional journals, blogs)
  • ITIL certification
