In looking for a software engineer, we’re searching for someone who can utilize Flutter/Dart to enhance our mobile app experience. 

You’ll be a key influencer for multiple projects and initiatives as you collaborate with your team members to deliver continuous value to our customers on Amica’s mobile app. You'll work directly with the mobile application team as well as other multi-disciplinary teams to ensure that customer needs translate into engaging experiences in our mobile app.

Working in an Agile environment, you'll be immersed in teamwork, consistently collaborating as you focus on problems and users rather than shortsighted solutions. You’ll work with your team to understand project requirements, customer pain points and user insights as you define a product vision that supports Amica's strategic plan to create peace of mind and build enduring relationships.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the entire application lifecycle (concept, design, test, release and support)
  • Produce fully function mobile applications across multiple platforms (iOS and Android)
  • Participate in code reviews to improve quality and promote learning opportunities
  • Gather specific requirements and suggest solutions
  • Write automated tests that provide value
  • Troubleshoot and debug to optimize performance and stability
  • Work with development team and product owner to plan new features
  • Stay up to date with new technology trends

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrable mobile application experience (such GitHub portfolio or mobile application developed at prior employer or school)
  • Ability to perform in a team environment with strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to interpret, follow and contribute to technical plans
  • Willing and able to learn new languages, platforms and technologies best suited for a project
  • Experience with a version control system (such as Git) in a group-based setting
  • Knowledgeable in at least one programming language and platform used in mobile application development
  • Experience with integrating APIs, third-party libraries and SDKs
  • Familiarity with both OOP and FP design principles
  • Excellent analytical skills with a good problem-solving attitude
