Job Description

Under direct supervision performs all duties necessary to assist with the release process for the progression of code throughout test and production environments.

Job Functions and Responsibilities:
• Performs all duties as directed by higher level staff necessary to assist with the implementation and management of the release process for the progression of code throughout test and production environments.
• Works closely with experienced staff to acquire the skills and knowledge necessary to become proficient in the release process.
• Attends change management and deployment planning meetings with higher level staff to assist with the collection of data and information pertaining to the release.
• Assists higher level staff in creating change requests for both regular and emergency changes and obtains appropriate approvals
• Takes initiative to increase understanding of all job-related areas.
• Attends training and/or industry seminars as appropriate, to stay abreast of current technologies, trends and directions.


Position Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related discipline; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
• Experience with scripting, experience with PowerShell/Groovy preferred.
• Knowledge and understanding of agile software development practices, experience with Java preferred.
• Conceptual understanding of service-oriented architecture and web services.
• Conceptual understanding of Java Virtual Machines (JVM), experience with Tomcat preferred.
• Detail-oriented with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work successfully in a team environment with limited supervision.
