Our office in Lincoln, RI is seeing an IT Developer to develop, code, test and debug IT solutions using existing and emerging technologies.

Job Functions and Responsibilities:

• Develops programs according to specifications from higher level staff or Business System Analysts
• Participates in all activities associated with the design, construction, testing and implementation of IT solutions. Includes close interaction with appropriate areas as needed.
• Assists in preparing detailed program specifications from which applications will be developed.
• May assist in managing assigned work through all phases of the Application Development Life Cycle.
• Utilizes and maintains technical and applications expertise, including the use of technologies, tools, programming standards, established processes, and concepts necessary to develop quality IT solutions.
• Provides mentoring and guidance to other IT personnel.
• Provides coverage and support of production application systems
• Attends training and/or industry seminars as appropriate, to stay abreast of current technologies, trends and directions.
• May be called upon to handle other duties as required.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 5 years’ experience
• Must have Warehouse data migration experience with Property Causality data (Policy and Claims). Must have had experience with at least 1 data warehouse platform migration
• Analytics understanding and background
• Understanding and working knowledge of data integration techniques and ETL concepts
• Strong SQL Skills
• Understanding of R or SAS is a plus
• Can contribute to design, establish best practices and trouble shooting
• Property Casualty (Policy, Marketing and Claim experience) –is a plus
• Works independently and coordinate resources when necessary
• Expert in working with ETL tools, preferably DataStage
• Beneficial to have an understanding and experience working on:
o Data Warehouse team
o Migrating Data Warehouse platforms
o Teradata, SQL and DB2 UDB , analytics platform
o Familiarity with Fact and Dimension data base model
o Understanding data models and schematic layers for BI Platforms
