Our office located in Lincoln, RI is seeking a Project Manager Intern - Analytics. This is a paid internship working 20 to 37.5 hours per week. Our internship is designed for individuals who have completed at least their Junior year from an accredited college/university and will be continuing their studies in the Fall.  Students considering earning college credits or looking to participate in a Cooperative Educational Program will also be considered.

Position Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Under manager’s guidance, responsible for the successful and timely delivery of analytics projects by empowering the team and clearing potential roadblocks
  • Participates in the interaction with business units and project team members to ensure clarity of business objectives, project scope, and expected outcomes
  • Identifies opportunities for process improvement and assists with their implementation
  • Performs project estimating, planning, scheduling, and tracking
  • Participates in identifying challenges and risks and handles any unforeseen problems or issues
  • Provides appropriate communication and status to all stakeholders to facilitate accurate and timely decisions
  • Designs and creates reports and dashboards to track team progress with advanced reporting tools
  • Coordinates with vendors on the project as needed

Preferred Skills

  • Expertise with Agile methodologies and JIRA
  • Experience with creating data visualizations in MicroStrategy, Tableau, Qlik, or an equivalent
  • Knowledge using SQL to query databases
  • Six Sigma or equivalent process improvement training
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to compile issues, concerns, and ideas, ask relevant questions and be able to understand and relate back the opinions of others
  • Capacity to be productive when working independently or collaboratively
  • Ability to effectively manage time to handle competing high priority projects
  • Understanding of the overall Data Engineering and Data Science and processes
  • Familiarity with the insurance industry a plus (not required)
