Our office located in Lincoln, RI is seeking a Solutions Architect-Life. The selected candidate will be responsible for the research, design, development and integration of architectural solutions to effectively achieve Amica’s end-state business vision and align with Amica’s enterprise architecture. This position will provide guidance to the organization on the selection and implementation of third-party solutions, as well as, integration efforts with vendor partners and our Corporate Information Systems Department.

Job Functions and Responsibilities:

•Facilitates the establishment and implementation of standards and guidelines that enable the design of technology solutions including architecting and implementing solutions requiring integration of multiple platforms, operating systems and applications across the enterprise
•Collaborates with the Corporate Information Systems Enterprise and Solution Architects along with the Infrastructure teams to recommend direction and changes in application development strategies and technologies used at Amica Life
•Responsible for establishing current and long-range direction of application development technology aimed at keeping the organization on the forefront of change
•Delivers technical solutions and guidance to programs, project teams and application development & configuration teams
•Provides overall system & application development direction and guidance to IS/IT management and staff
•Utilizes and maintains technical and application expertise, including the use of technologies, tools, programming languages, established processes, and concepts necessary to develop quality IT solutions across multiple domains
•Works closely and collaborates with Amica’s external vendor partners to provide direction and oversight
•Conducts research and makes recommendations on emerging technologies to support the company’s goals
•Leads new technology integration via requirements analysis, design and implementation
•May assist in the development of methods to measure and report on application development performance and reliability
•Attends training and/or industry seminars as appropriate, to stay abreast of current technologies, trends and directions
•May be called upon to handle other duties as required

Job Requirements:

•Bachelor’s degree required and 9+ years of experience in multiple and/or highly complex business application system architecture domains or, an equivalent combination of education and experience
•Experience with design, configuration and management of business application systems
•Experience as an enterprise architect with an understanding of strategic technology planning, implementation and high availability enterprise solutions
•Experience with core technologies, including open standards, databases and object orientated API driven integration technologies
•Deep development, integration and design experience using Java and Web Services (REST and SOAP)
•Experience using UML tools such as MS Visio
•Experience using Alfabet software is preferred
•Experience in Life Insurance & Annuity and/or Financial services sector is preferred
•Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
