Our office located in Lincoln, RI is seeking an intern for the Innovation Team within the Claims Department. This is a paid internship and the working hours are 37.5 hours per week during the summer months.
Our internship is designed for individuals who are currently enrolled in their sophomore or junior year at an accredited college/university and who will be continuing their undergraduate studies in the fall. Candidates should be seeking a Bachelor’s degree related to Technology or Business. A GPA of 3.0 or higher is preferred.
Job Responsibilities:
The Innovation team in the Claims Executive Department is looking for a strategic, creative thinker to join us for the summer. The internship position involves researching new technologies, examining existing business processes, and seeking ways to apply those to help improve efficiencies, productivity, and increase customer satisfaction. The position also entails communicating with and supporting end-users, coordinating small scale pilot activity, and programming web based applications to meet business requirements.
Qualifications:
Candidates must be proficient in Microsoft Office, Office 365, SharePoint and other related software solutions, as well as possess familiarity with iOS across all Apple devices. Exceptional organizational and interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently are required. Knowledge of GIS based software/systems including geospatial and mapping concepts is a plus. A background in computer programming is preferred including knowledge of JavaScript, ReactJS, and Python.
This opportunity is an excellent way for students to receive hands-on experience testing and implementing new technologies to transform existing business processes.
